Academic Intervention
Go beyond tutoring with targeted programs.
Academic Interventions are individualized, research-based lessons taught by expert educators and overseen by clinical psychologists to help students build skills across all areas of curriculum.
At Bright Lights We offer targeted academic interventions, which include:
1
Research-based academic measures to assess and improve specific academic skills
2
Educators specially trained in working with children with learning disabilities, ADHD, and other special needs
3
Direct-instruction, one-on-one approach to teaching in order to maximize student learning
4
Progress monitoring overseen by our school and clinical psychologists
How to Get Started
After you have met with our clinic manager, you will be required to fill out three documents pertaining to your child’s specific academic needs. After these forms are filled, you will be connected with our Lead Coordinator, who will pair you with one of our highly-trained teachers based on your child’s needs, available schedule, and timing.
Once connected, the teacher will meet with the student and build rapport, and in the subsequent session, the teacher will use curriculum-based measures (CBMs) to get a sense of your child’s level with the skill needing strengthening. After, an individualized learning plan will be developed and overseen by one of our clinical psychologists.
Session Types:
30-Minute Sessions ($80)
1 Hour Sessions ($160)
Academic Intervention Specializations
“Academic Intervention is more than tutoring and homework support. It is an individualized evidence-based learning plan that is designed to address the academic, social, emotional, and cognitive roots of the difficulties your child is experiencing. We first provide an Academic Skills Assessment, and from there myself and Bright Lights’ experienced team of Interventionists work with your child’s Unique Learning Profile to provide closely monitored one-on-one learning support that is engaging and effective.”
