Services

What services are offered in-person?

At this time, Bright Lights is only opening for in-person psychoeducational assessments. Please note, these assessments are conducted in a hybrid format, with some aspects being delivered remotely, and others in-person in our clinic. For more information, please contact us.

Academic Intervention services will continue to be delivered online until further notice.

Pre-Screen Requirements

What should I expect before my appointment?

Our receptionist will conduct an initial phone conversation to determine if an in-person appointment is necessary. If an appointment is deemed necessary, the receptionist will pre-screen over the phone with questions regarding COVID-19 symptoms.

These same questions will be asked again upon entering the clinic during your appointment.

What if someone in my home has symptoms, but not me or my child?

According to the COVID-19 restrictions, if you have had contact with someone with symptoms, we please advise you to not visit our clinic at this time.

Appointment Day

What is the procedure for my appointment?

Upon arrival, you and your child will be instructed to do the follow:

  • Use the hand sanitizer provided to disinfect your hands

  • Place a mask over your nose and mouth

  • Answer some COVID-19 screening questions

Am I allowed to come early for my appointment?

No. Please arrive at your designated appointment slot. Currently, we are staggering our appointments to ensure we are meeting the public health guidelines. We ask you to kindly wait in your car or visit the park across the street until your appointment.

Please try to arrive on time for your appointment as we might not be accommodate late arrivals.

Do I have to wear a mask?

Yes. Public health guidelines require all clients to wear mask, including children. If you or your child is unable to wear a mask upon visiting our clinic, please contact us.

Will masks be provided?

We encourage our clients to bring their own masks, as while we do have a supply of masks, we are not able to guarantee you will be able to receive one. If you do not have a mask, please let us know in advance and we will accommodate your request for one.

What are your safety protocols?

Currently, we are abiding by the public health guidelines. We have the following set-up:

  • Plexiglass barrier for our testing office

  • Staff equipped with gloves, masks, and face shields

  • Hand sanitizer stations and disinfectant solutions

  • Re-arranged waiting area to accommodate physical distancing

  • Hands-free garbage cans

All of our staff are trained in proper sanitation and cleaning methods prior to appointments conducted in the clinic. Materials, phones, desks, office tools, and computers are not shared between staff to reduce contact. We also conduct a log of clients to establish contact tracing should an incident occur. If you have more questions about our protocols, please contact us.

Can I wait in the waiting area while my child is being tested?

Unfortunately, no. We kindly request parents and guardians to please wait in their cars or to visit Christie Pits Park while your child is in their appointment. Our staff will call you when the appointment is done and the child is ready to be picked-up.

Who will be in the clinic?

Currently, we are operating with minimal staff to increase our physical distancing measures. Upon arrival, only the clinician responsible for the child’s appointment will be in the clinic.

Are restrooms available?

Yes. Please note, however, our restroom is shared between other tenants in the building. Bright Lights Psychology Clinic does not have executive control over the sanitation or cleaning of the restroom.
